Children 24-30 months Educational Toys
The "Terrible Two's" do not have to be terrible at all! They can be challenging though. Your child is realizing he/she is his/her own person and everyone else better get out of the way! Your child will start playing nicely with other children his/her age.
He/she will begin talking more like an adult than a baby and conversation will be more inquisitive.
Active games will be good for your child to play, games like: musical chairs, tag, and hide and go seek. Running and jumping will be a part of everyday so prepare for the typical bumps and bruises.
The girls and boys will begin to play somewhat differently during this age. Girls will like to dress-up and go pretend shopping while boys on the other hand will like playing with action figures and toy cars.
A little miniature kitchen set with all sorts of utensil like spoons, pans, cans, milk, hot dogs, etc. with provide hours and hours of fun for both your boys and girls.
During this stage of life would be the time to get more creative in your art projects. Things like crayon rubbing, paint splattering, or string painting will be lots of fun for you and you child. Outside is still always a great option, some fun new things to do are: hop scotch, washing the car, or Hula-Hoops. As always just spending time with you child is invaluable!
Educational Toddler Toys, 30- 36 mon:
Now your child is beginning to be very organized and is beginning to like things in a certain order. Boys will start acting even more like boys; getting dirty, throwing around a football, etc. Girls will begin being even more like girls; having their hair done, wearing dresses, etc. Girls will tend to be very dramatic during these next few years too.
Keeping your child active during these years is the key to your sanity and your child's. Bean bags would be a good item to add to your toy inventory during these months. These can be used for playing catch, playing "basketball", playing hopscotch, or just tossing them into the air.
Art is still an excellent activity. Now though your child is old enough to start using scissors to cut paper. Give your child free reign (with you supervising) to cut up paper in every way, shape and form. Let your child be very creative when "designing" paper cuttings. Rubber stamps are creative new tools too. When outside, hoops (HulaHoops), chalk, fast games, even watching thunderstorms or the stars are some great fun and educational things to do with your child.
Toy makers will often inform the user of what skills are enhanced through a certain toy. Some will have a chart that lists which toys help expand a particular skill(s) and learning styles.
